February 16, 2006 |
Manchester based industrial property specialists, Davies Harrison has acquired Unit 9 Broadgate, the former Viking Direct building for an undisclosed sum on behalf of its client, Cantt Pak. Cantt Pak won the site after offering the best bid in a competitive tender and plan to undertake an extensive refurbishment of the 154,340 sq ft self contained warehouse.
Located within Oldham Broadway Business Park, the building is located just off junction 20/21 of the M60. The unit, which was originally constructed in 1997 and later extended in 2000, also benefits from high quality offices, parking for 290 cars and a state of the art security system. The refurbished unit is due to be ready for occupation by January 2006 and will be available on either a freehold and leasehold basis.
The property, set on eight acres, also incorporates a fully operational 15,000 sq.ft call centre which is already fully fitted including a high tech telephone system, desks, chairs, raised floor and an air conditioning system, ready for immediate occupation.
Rick Davies of Davies Harrison comments: “This is an excellent opportunity for Cantt Pak, who believe in the property’s quality of location and specification. The investment was highly sought after by a number of prominent North West property companies and we are delighted to have secured the acquisition. We are confident in the high demand for properties of this calibre in this region and have already had strong interest in the call centre.”
Arnold Cronin and DGI represented Viking Direct.
