DAVIES HARRISON LANDS IN THE EAST
October 8, 2007
Acting on behalf of its client, Cantt Pak Ltd, Davies Harrison has acquired 15 acres of land in East Manchester for a figure in excess of £3 million and is set to develop the first speculative industrial scheme in the area. Cantt Pak bought the site from Harrow and plans to build 250,000 sq ft of industrial units ranging in size from 5,000 sq ft – 150,000 sq ft.

The scheme, known as North Manchester Business Park, is strategically located just off Waterloo Street and is close to existing businesses such as Astra Zenenca, Avecia, Manchester Cables and Minky. Cannt Pak has an excellent track record in developing industrial schemes including (RD to confirm).

Rick Davies of Davies Harrison comments: “We bid very competitively to secure this site. East Manchester is currently benefiting from a substantial amount of investment and will continue to grow exponentially over the next few years. North Manchester Business Park is an important scheme for the area as it is currently the only planned industrial Park in the East Manchester. However, I believe that this will be the catalyst for more new build industrial developments in the area.”

Planning is due to be submitted by the end of October. Phase one will comprise 21 units totalling 80,000 sq ft.

WHR acted on behalf of Harrow Estates. Both Davies Harrison and WHR have been retained as the joint letting agents.
